Here are 3 major ways that my past Fine Arts Degree has been an asset to me within my overall Real Estate and Business Career.

#1. My strength in Negotiations; Having the ability to see beyond what is being presented. I cannot stress this enough. Just like within a canvas or a piece of art, this ability and sensitivity is particularly important when it comes to negotiations. Your sense to what you are being presented, how you digest or extract the truth and reality from the false perceptions that may be at play are key fundamental assets to protecting and achieving most favorable results These are elements that not everyone has or has taken any time to develop. I do believe some of it can be learned, but for the most part I think you either have it or you don’t.

#2. The ability to Think Outside the Box; Another key element in managing tough situations and getting tough properties sold. I think we can all agree that there are common steps and typical solutions when it comes to selling Real Estate that everyone goes through. And often these work and properties get sold. But what many fail to recognize is that not all of them work 100% of the time and not all of them lead to a successful end result. There are still hundreds of properties that don’t sell each year. So the question is, what do you do in the cases when things are not selling? Are you able to pivot? Create a back up plan? Experiment with trying something new? Creative minds are able to create solutions.

3. The gift of Creativity itself; It just keeps on showing up as a necessity everywhere. From the flow and level to your writing (in the descriptions you put together to draw in interest); to the direction in the marketing material being put out in ad campaigns; to having an eye for interior spaces from composition principles in preparing a home for sale. Creativity within you is key.
