This may come off as a little Harsh. But this ones for all the Frieda’s of the world. So let me tell you first a little bit about Frieda…
There is a lady whom Calgary Realtors have come to refer to as Frieda. (Sometimes she goes by a different name).
What Frieda does, which we have all come to know and be aware of via ‘behind the scenes’ insider Realtor Forums is as follows…with some slight variations… You see Frieda has created a system for herself, where she will call Realtors up to request a showing or three. She will have them pick her up, take her through a home, and then has them drop her off at a location that is convenient for her. Of course she is very wise in that she chooses her showings strategically depending on her needs that day…fascinating, right? But it’s true!
So here’s the thing. There are Friedas that exist in every province, city and state. And as Realtors we have learned to suspect that there’s more than one at any given time our Antenna’s are always up. And we learn from each other’s situations and make sure to make each other aware. We may all be from different brokerages but trust me when it comes to this, we have each other’s backs.
The point here is, we have no time for Frieda’s. And our Selling Clients don’t have time for this either. It takes time & energy to prepare a home to show. So No, we cannot show you homes just for fun because you and your partner have two hours on a Saturday.
Our job is to pre-qualify clients and to ensure to the best of our ability that anyone we are taking through is a serious client. For this reason, please be prepared to be asked questions, to have copies of your pre-approvals requested, or to provide your proof of funds before scheduling a showing.
Everyone’s time is valuable, precious and limited. Each client we choose to work with and take on eliminates time that we could be spending with one that needs us, or with our families, on our self-care, our husbands, lovers and friends. We could be using the hours to further educate and hone our skills.
Realtors are not tour guides for your weekends.
